From 1993 to his death, Tom Economus was the President of the Linkup, at that time the nation's leading survivor advocacy group. He was a clergy abuse survivor, an Independent Catholic priest, a passionate and witty speaker, and a born leader. His death, even while the scandals in Boston were coming to head with widespread awareness of the problem, marked the end of an era as much as the Geoghan case and the shaming of Cardinal Law did. This memorial is adapted from the one originally posted on the now-gone Linkup site.
